Activities

Fishing
A distinct advantage for guests holidaying at Ringour Farm is that fishing on Loch Ken, immediately in front of the farmhouse, is free of charge for up to two guests. For parties of three or more additional tickets can be obtained for £2.50 per rod per day. The Loch is famous for excellent angling, especially pike. Indeed the record fish for Loch Ken is the Kenmuir Pike, caught in 1894 and weighing over 70lbs. For some time this was a UK record. Certain restrictions may apply during the year as a result of farming/shooting activities.

Cycling
Access to Raiders Road in the Galloway Forest Park is half a mile away and does not require vehicle access.

Watersports
New Galloway Sailing Centre is directly opposite the farmhouse. The Loch Ken Marina is situated on the Eastern shore of the Loch and can be reached by car or by boat. The marina offers waterskiing lessons and boat hire.

Riding
Ringour is one of the very few Galloway holiday cottages which has direct access to the Raiders Road and the Galloway Forest Park, without the need for a car. Guests have the use of one field in front of the house for grazing, and the farm buildings can be used for stabling up to 3 horses. Direct access to the Forest Park can be gained without the need for a horsebox.
